To become an international student of the University of Siena you will have to follow a number of steps, depending on whether you are European or not.

1. Before Applying

Before submitting your application for admission, we recommend that you consult the educational offer of the University of Siena on the website 

2. Admission Application

You must submit the application for admission through the website If your application is approved, you will receive a Letter of Eligibility for Enrollment (i.e., a preliminary admission letter). This letter is essential for Pre-Enrollment at our university and, for non-EU students, to initiate the visa application process. 

3. Obtaining the Visa (for non-EU students not residing in Italy)

Non-EU students not residing in Italy need a visa to enrol in our courses. The visa application is started through the website only after you have been admitted and have received the Letter of Eligibility for Enrollment. 

4. Enrollment

To complete enrollment at the University of Siena it is necessary to pay the enrollment fee. 

5. Travel to Italy

Foreigners arriving in Italy for study reasons must have health insurance and apply for a residence permit.
