Language requirements | English In order to take the MSc courses, students must have an adequate knowledge of the English language, at least of level B2 as established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students can demonstrate to possess the required knowledge level either through a recognized international certification (see the list of international certifications recognized by the University of Siena), or by passing a B2 level exam at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA). After the enrolment in Siena, students having an international certification must present it to the CLA office and apply for recognition. The CLA is located in Piazza San Francesco 7, Siena (more details can be found in the related website). For students requiring to pass the B2 exam, the University of Siena offers B2 level courses. Dates of the exams and timetables of the courses are reported in the CLA website. The timetable of the English courses is also included in the MSc courses timetable. Students are strongly encouraged to pass the B2 exam as soon as possible. |

Overview
Students of the Master programme in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action will develop knowledge on the theoretical and practical aspects of humanitarian aid and conflict management, also having the possibility to interact in an intercultural and international environment. Students will delve into the debate and will be acquainted with the main analytical tools for the study and assessment of humanitarian and conflict resolution practices in crisis and emergency contexts. The training will be offered through a variety of modules and seminars held by academics, practitioners and experts working for international organisations involved in the humanitarian response to regional and global crises.
Graduates of the Master program “Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action” develop a wide range of knowledge including practical and theoretical aspects of conflict management in a intercultural environment and humanitarian actions. They are provided with key issues and training activities on current debates concerning the issues of humanitarian responses in a context of crisis. The training will be pursued through a variety of modules and seminars presented by academics, practitioners and organisations that shape humanitarian responses around the world.
