Overview

The Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences provides a solid preparation on scientific and methodological topics in the different fields of modern biology. These abilities will be acquired through lectures, tutorials, workshops, stages and field trips. Animal, plant and microbial organisms will be investigated from a molecular, functional, morphological and evolutionary point of view, with a focus on their relationships within the ecosystem. Graduates in Biological Sciences will have access to all the Master’s degrees of the LM-6-Biology class and carry out work activities in public and private biomedical, biotechnological, environmental and quality control companies.

THE COURSE PREPARES STUDENTS FOR THE PROFESSIONS IN LIFE SCIENCES, SUCH AS: BIOLOGIST, ZOOLOGIST, BOTANIST, BIOCHEMIST, MICROBIOLOGIST AND RELATED ONES

The main functions attributed to a biologist with a three-year-degree (Bachelor’s degree) are those that involve the use of standardized methodologies, such as the execution with professional technical autonomy of: a) analytical-instrumental procedures connected to biological investigations; b) technical-analytical procedures in the biotechnological, biomolecular and biomedical fields, also aimed at research; c) technical-analytical and control procedures in the environmental and water, air, soil and food hygiene fields; d) technical-analytical procedures in the chemical-physical, biochemical, microbiological, toxicological, pharmacological and genetics fields and e) quality control procedures
