Language requirements | English Italian In order to take the MSc courses, students must have an adequate knowledge of the English language, at minimum B2 level, as established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students can demonstrate the required knowledge level either through an approved international certification (see the list) of international certifications recognized by the University of Siena), or by passing a B2 level exam at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA). After enrolment in Siena, students having an international certification must present it to the CLA office. The CLA is located in Piazza San Francesco 7, Siena (more details can be found in the related website). For students who are obliged to pass the B2 exam, the University of Siena offers B2 level courses. Dates of the exams and timetables of the courses are reported in the CLA website. The timetable of the English courses is also included in the MSc courses timetable. Overview
The master’s degree program in Sciences of administrations aims to provide interdisciplinary methodological and cultural, scientific and professional content knowledge, in a series of legal, economic, statistical-quantitative, political, sociological and historical learning environments. but also linguistic.
These educational bases enable the graduate to hold professional positions of responsibility throughout the public administration, companies and public and private bodies of a national, but also European and international nature, as well as in media activities .
Programme structure
The degree course in Sciences of Administrations
has two curricula taught in Italian:
- Taxes, economy and law;
- Communication, territorial marketing and tourism.

Career opportunities
Master’s graduates acquire useful skills in a transversal way: they will be able to carry out professional activities in companies and particularly in the areas of administration, management control and corporate finance, as well as in the whole area of public administrations, from the administrative departments State bodies, state administrations, territorial public bodies with particular reference to the revenue agency, as well as within associations, institutions and private foundations for public purposes.
Career opportunities and professional activities provided by this Degree Course are therefore to be identified in national and international institutions, in private companies that also operate in the international market, in public and private organizations with highly responsible functions. Graduates will also be able to carry out professional activities in the governmental structures of national, European and international bodies, developing and implementing public intervention policies, also aimed at land management and tourism.
In this latter sector, graduates also have the opportunity to become a “tourism consultant”, an emerging professional figure who falls within the broader sphere of business consultants.
Career opportunities are envisaged in publishing companies, newspapers, public and private press offices, press agencies and in any other information and communication sector.
The professional opportunities are completed with activities at research institutes, public and private schools, membership organizations, recreational, cultural and sports organizations.
