Language requirements | English Italian English knowledge After the enrolment in Siena, students having an international certification must present it to the CLA office and apply for recognition. The CLA is located in Piazza San Francesco 7, Siena (more details can be found in the related website). Knowledge of Italian language International students will have to demonstrate their knowledge of the Italian language and of the specific academic prerequisites in order to guarantee that they are adequately prepared to undertake their studies at the master’s level by taking an online entrance exam. |

Overview
This degree course aims to train master’s graduates who have a considerable overall cultural knowledge in the humanities and who are able to understand and study specific topics in the field of literary history, philology, the history of language, literary theory, and the history of criticism. It also gives ample space to the study of foreign languages, philologies and literatures as an indispensable tool for international communication and critical reflection, even in a comparative perspective.

The degree course in Modern Literatures has two curricula taught in Italian:
- Philological, linguistic and literary
- Foreign literature
